About

Jessa Richer is a storyteller, singer, actor, dancer, writer and musician based in the GTA. She grew up in a household that cherished the arts in every form, and was practically raised on classic films and musical cast recordings. She has always been passionate about music, whether that be singing, playing instruments, or even writing it. In her time at Sheridan College, Jessa had the opportunity to specializes in Writing For Musical Theatre, which has only increased her interest in how music and storytelling intersect to create something magical and otherworldly.

Jessa is interested in stories that explore complex human emotions and relationships.

As an artist and person, Jessa is  drawn to pain, and looks to immerse herself in theatre that deconstructs it, and searches for ways to turn that pain into beauty. She is a strong believer that human tragedy is where the most precious and awe inspiring creations come from. She wants to create and be a part of work that doesn’t shy away from the awkward, uncomfortable and hard parts of being alive. She is also passionate about new work, and finds the process of discovery in early stages of development to be rewarding and fulfilling. In her spare time Jessa is an avid reader, averaging over a hundred novels read each year. She finds the most joy through constant exposure to new art.
